Application Requirements
Admission to the Conflict Resolution Graduate Certificate Program is by application only.
You do NOT have to be a matriculated student to apply to or to be admitted to this course. If you are currently an undergraduate student at the University, you must be within two semesters of graduation at the time you apply (Some other restrictions may apply. Please contact us for more information if this applies to you.)
The program accepts a maximum of 36 students each year. The class size is limited in order to provide each student with the supervised practice time necessary to develop their skills and to give each student personal coaching.
Eligibility
To be eligible to begin the program in the fall, please submit the following:
- A 1000-word essay outlining how the Certification Program fits in with your personal and professional goals. Explain how you plan to use the knowledge, experience, and skills after graduation.
- A current resume.
- Two letters of recommendation. (Confidential letters are preferred. Letters should be sent directly to the program via email or mail by the writer, or submitted by the applicant in an envelope sealed by the writer.)
- Documentation to prove completion of a bachelor's degree (a photocopy is sufficient). In some cases, proof of equivalent experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree. If applicable, a letter from the responsible party that is going to provide tuition assistance.
- A $55.00 non-refundable application fee. This fee can be paid by check or online by credit card. Please make checks or money orders payable to Department of Communication and mail to the address below. Or, click here to access our online payment portal. Application Deadlines and Acceptance
Application deadline is June 1st. Applications will be accepted through July 1st if space is available.
Letters of acceptance will be mailed July 1st. Incomplete applications will not be considered. If the Program's Acceptance Committee must choose between two equally qualified people, they will choose the one whose application packet has the earliest dated postmark.
